Is a Passport required? What are considered proper documentation?

A passport is not required, but suggested. You MUST have an original birth certificate (An original or copy of a birth certificate issued by a government agency or the Department of Health and Vital Statistics)...A clear, legible copy of a birth certificate that was originally issued by a government agency. The copy does not need to be notarized or certified.A government issued ID to check-in onboard, then you will be issued a Sign & Sail Card for use to exit & reenter the ship....A non-expired government-issued photo I.D. is required of all guests 16 years of age and older. The following are acceptable: Driver's License (a temporary Driver's License with photo is acceptable); Driver's Permit; School/Student I.D. (acceptable for guests 16/17/18 years of age); Government-issued identification card including a U.S. Military I.D. with photo (city/state/federal).

Proper travel documentation is required at embarkation and throughout the cruise. Even though a guest has completed registration using Online Check-in, it is still the responsibility of the guest to present the required travel documents at the time of embarkation. Guests should check with their travel agent and/or government authority to determine the travel documents necessary for each port of call. Any guest without proper documents will not be allowed to board the vessel and no refund of the cruise fare will be issued. Royal Caribbean assumes no responsibility for advising guests of proper travel documentation.

Royal Caribbean highly recommends that all guests travel with a passport valid for at least six months beyond completion of travel. This will enhance the debarkation experience as delays may be expected upon return to the United States for those without one. Additionally, this will enable guests to fly from the United States to meet their ship at a foreign port should they miss their scheduled port of embarkation and allow guests who must disembark the ship before their cruise ends due to an emergency to fly back to the United States without significant delays and complications.

Do you have to be vaccinated against Covid-19 to cruise?

There are no longer any vaccination requirements

What is Royal Caribbean's service gratuities (tips) price and policy?

Guests who choose not to prepay gratuities at the time of booking will have a service gratuity automatically applied to their respective SeaPass® account on a daily basis, in the amount shown below.*

  • $21.00 USD per guest, per day will be applied to guests sailing on any suite; and
  • $18.50 USD per guest, per day will be applied to guests sailing on all other stateroom categories.

Consistent with standard hospitality practice, gratuities collected are pooled and applied toward the compensation of onboard crew members, including dining, bar and culinary services staff, stateroom attendants, hotel services teams, and others who work to enhance the overall cruise experience.

Additionally, an 18% gratuity will be automatically added to all pre-cruise and onboard purchases of beverages and beverage packages, specialty dining and specialty dining packages, room service and mini bar purchases. A 20% gratuity will be automatically added to all pre-cruise and onboard spa and salon purchases.

Gratuities may be modified at the guest’s sole discretion by visiting the Guest Relations desk onboard at any time prior to the morning of disembarkation. Modifications cannot be made once the sailing has ended. Guests sailing in group reservations should check with their group leader or travel agent for additional details.

What Travel Protection Program does Royal Caribbean offer?

Make sure nothing gets in the way of your adventure with Royal Caribbean Travel Protection program benefits, including medical, baggage and Evacuation coverages to protect you during your trip. With the Royal Caribbean Travel Protection Program Cancellation Penalty Waiver (a non-insurance feature offered by Royal Caribbean), if your plans go awry and you cancel your cruise vacation (for specified reasons), Royal Caribbean will waive the non-refundable cancellation provision of your cruise ticket contract and pay you IN CASH the value of the unused portion of your prepaid cruise vacation. In addition, should you need to cancel for "any other reason" you may be eligible for credit toward a future cruise - up to 90% of the non-refundable, prepaid cruise vacation cost.

Because our liability for loss or damage is limited by the Cruise Ticket Contract, we recommend that all guests check their own insurance coverage or consider purchasing the Royal Caribbean Travel Protection Program.

If booking as a single occupant, what does that mean?

If booking as a Single Occupant, you will occupy the cabin alone, but will be responsible for paying the cabin pricing in full.

You will have up to final payment date, unless the sailing is closed, to add a 2nd guest.

Once you add a 2nd guest, the cruise reservation will increase to add the 2nd guest's taxes & fees.

* NOTE: Cruise cabins are based on double occupancy, so if you book single, its like paying for a 2nd guest that is not sailing.

Can I change guests after booking?

A name change is the cancellation of one guest and the addition of a new guest on a booking. An original guest must remain on the booking, otherwise, this is considered a full stateroom cancellation and applicable cancellation penalties will be assessed to the original guests; new guests will be subject to prevailing cruise and air rates.

Royal Caribbean reserves the right to assess a penalty for the name change.

How many guests max can be in each room?

Most ships and stateroom types have a maximum of 4 guests per cabin. You must book the cabin size you require because all double occupancy cabins can not be converted into triple or quad cabins since they all do not have sofa beds or pulliums.
